Spring is on the horizon and clever Bianca from our HQ team has made a Helen Dress using our super cute new Picnic Linen. Check out details and photos below!

Hey Bianca, what made you choose to make this dress?
"I'd like some more dresses that I can wear to work in summer but also work for transseasonal outfits. I was drawn to this pattern because it looked elegant and easy to wear. I was also looking for a quick sew with no buttonholes or zips! Pockets are a must and this dress has very well-placed pockets that are large, without detracting from the shape of the dress. I also love the panels through the sides and shoulders. I have found Dressmaking Amore patterns to be very well made and a joy to sew, and this is no different! It was low effort/high reward! I also love that you can wear it back to front!"

Project Details - Helen Dress
Bianca made a size 10 Helen Dress pattern from Dressmaking Amore, using 3m of our cute new Picnic Posy Linen in the colourway Green Mix. She made no changes to the pattern and the project took a single day of sewing at a leisurely pace. Bianca said that the instructions of the pattern are very easy to follow, with clear photos for each step.
Any changes if you were to make it again?
"I made a size 10 but I think I will go down a size or two the next time I make this pattern (which will be very soon as I love it!)
All of the techniques were easy to achieve, and I love that the waist is gathered without having to spend ages fiddling around with gathering!"

So cute! What will you wear it with?
"I will definitely be wearing this to work in summer a lot! But I love that I can dress it up and down depending on the day. I could easily throw it on over a bikini, or wear it to a nice dinner out, or pop some stockings and a warm merino top on underneath for a bright winter outfit. So versatile!"
