Pattern βΒ Donny Shirt by Friday Pattern Company
The Donny Shirt is a basic pull over shirt pattern with a lapel collar and optional patch pocket. We made a size small for Olivia and chose ourΒ popular Olive Gingham LinenΒ for the review, using 1.3m, plus a littleΒ Fusible Interfacing - 50gsm / White. Linen is a lovely option for shirts - it's lightweight, easy care and softens beautifully over time. We couldn't find a difficulty level rating for this pattern, but would suggest it would suit an advanced beginner. You'll need to do some top stitching, collar sandwiching and yoke sewing. As always with Friday Pattern Company patterns, the instructions were clear and the illustrations were helpful. We made no alterations to our Donny, and the fit turned out great on Olivia!

Fabric Used -Β Olive Gingham Linen
Friday Pattern Company recommend using light to midweight woven fabrics for the Donny Shirt. For a structured look, try a cotton poplin, twill or lightweight canvas, and for a relaxed drapey finish, aim for silks, linens or rayons.
